Re: Ill fitting rumble lid

From the picture, it looks like the lower panel is a repro. Put a straight edge across the top to see if it is flat. If it is, then it is a repro. An original panel should be about 1/8"(?) taller...

Re: Out of my tank....

Re: patterns for cabriolet top bows

Here is my short answer:
Got the drawings from Larry.
Bought the wood from Classic.
Used the drawings to correct the mistakes in the wood from Classic.
Took the metal brace from a bad #2 bow,...

Re: Wood Frame body sill -Cutout at rear frame corner ?

No, there should not be a cutout in the wood. Countersinking the wood above the rivet heads is enough to keep the subframe from resting only on the rivet heads while you set up the floor. Once the...

Re: Rear fender welt installation

I took some extra welt material and sewed long tabs onto the fender welt spaced every 4-5 inches. Then mount the fender with the welt and pull the tabs as needed to get it the welting to sit...

Re: 68B top install questions

I did not do the top myself. After reading everything I could, I figured it was easier to have a top fit to my car instead of trying to get a kit to fit. Lebaron makes their top kits to fit one set...

Re: Which whitewalls?

And remember, if you have a fender mounted spare, Firestones won't easily fit into the fender well.

Re: Is there a "cure" for ingition noise overpowering a CB radio?

I can't give you an instant fix for this, but I can point you in hopefully the right direction. I recently built a microprocessor based (PIC chip) turn signal box to run LED signals. When the car...

Re: HELP with horn

You need to remember that the horn has an internal resistance of approx. 1.2 ohms. So, 5A x 1.2ohm = 6volts
To take it up to 12 volts the formula would be 5A x ohms = 12volts.
ohms would equal 2.4...

Re: 68B Cabriolet No 1 Bow - Upper Q lock pillar interface

I can't answer that question as I am about two weeks from having my top installed. The wood structure is in place and adjusted to open and close correctly. I hope the bow doesn't need to come apart...

Re: 68B Cabriolet No 1 Bow - Upper Q lock pillar interface

I used this joint to both center the bow on the car and to get the correct angle for the upper lock pillars. The pillars should angle out 5/16"(if I remember correctly), this angle will match the...

Almost all LED's work off of 5 volts or less. There is just a resistor placed in series with the diode to adjust the supply voltage down to what is required for each individual diode. The only...

Not really strange at all if you really think about it. All those nice original parts you installed were probably removed at some time over the past 80 years because they were causing a problem. ...

With everything you did, you are still only about half way through a good carb overhaul. Four things that you did not do immediately come to mind:
1. With the carb in two halves blow into the idle...
