Re: FlatheadCoupe John McClure

Gosh, it's so sad when a flathead brother takes the final ride. May his family, you and all his friends be comforted through prayer and may God Bless him as he returns home.

Re: 8ba oil pump question

How do you adjust for the thickness of the gasket when using the .008 in. clearance?
A piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper stock is about .005. Would that be ok to use as a gasket?
Thanks.

Re: 8ba oil pump question

I noticed that one of the gears is pinned and doesn't come out and the other mating gear is free floating with no pin and can fall out once cover is removed. This "free floating " gear (on the right...

8ba oil pump question

I have an 8BA oil pump and am wondering if it would be ok to flip the cover plate over and reinstall it for the two gears so as to provide a fresh, new surface for the gears as shown in the third...

Re: 1936 Ford Convertible Project value ?

Kube, That's a great story. Those were good days when folks really helped each other out and patriotism was a virtue. (Just my opinion.) I also found WI folks to be good people. In 1971 ran out of...

Re: What is this collection of parts worth? (1946 NOS)

redandrusty: Sure would help if you would post photos of what you have. Otherwise, it's impossible to "price out".

Re: 48 Ford gas fitting going into gas tank

It would seem logical that the "out flow" gas tank line fitting would have to have the gas line extend inside the tank long enough so that it bends downward but does not touch the bottom of the tank....

Re: 1939 radiator overflow tank?

Your coolant shouldn't be "foamy"?
GOGGLE: "What causes radiator coolant to be foamy?" to get some ideas.

Even though engine is new it might be a leaking head gasket.
Check torque on heads. ...

Re: Can This Wheel Cylinder be Saved?

Ok, the "sleeve it" folks win. I was just thinking that it would be neat to try my brazing idea with cast iron.

Thanks to all for your replies. Jim

Can This Wheel Cylinder be Saved?

I have been saving this USA made 1940 Ford OEM wheel cylinder ( 1" x 1 14" bore) for last 40 years.

I was thinking I could rebuild it by heating it up and filling in the pitted area with brazing...

Re: Rumbleseat trick of regreasing a throwout bearing?

Thanks kiwi: What you say is so very true and when WW II began spare parts were "gold".

Re: Rumbleseat trick of regreasing a throwout bearing?

Gosh, are there no more good OEM throw out bearings available?

I would think that by the time you know it needs grease, it's already worn.

A lot of work to install and "iffy" bearing.

HOW TO IDENTIFY a 6V and a 12V VOLTAGE REGULATOR
