A wire brush is your new friend, and avoid overheating (no color). The cold flywheel and hot ring are the correct combination. A brass drift to seat the ring. Work around the flywheel to gradually...

My rebuilds have preformed well. The only 2 returns have been tracked back to apparently dirty fuel from the same individual. I can rebuild your carb, or sell you a pretested zenith for your build...

The captures on the last replacement rod I got needed to be fitted to the balls on both ends. Your balls may vary.

The ends of the control rods are internally spring loaded. Pull to lengthen enough to release the ball on the distributor plate arm.
The reproduction control arms will fight you.

Babbit wears oblong. I have read that a maintenance practice was to drop the pan and adjust the fit of the rods and mains. A knock would indicate a clearance issue.
Not sure of the interval for this...

Try this, cut off The heads off screws and put the shafts in the holes in the sub rails.
Leave them proud so when you locate the floor board the exact location of each screw is transferred. Then...

Rereading your post I notice you took care to clear all circuits, that looks correct.But, You may try a more thorough cleaning, using air to check each circuit.

Dodge central of Michigan, TL-1011 split rivet crimp tool.
Or MGAguru.com split rivet crimping tool for a picture of a modified pair of vice grips.

I used some surplus canvas webbing about 1 3/4 " wide, and used tacks to fasten. Painted with black wood stain. Looked at brattons webbing, which is 1/2 inch narrower, then remembered I didn't put it...

Used Russian imported plywood, metric, but 3/4" approx., 7 ply,
Worked fine. I think brattons, or snyders had a diagram for dimensions.
Before I drilled holes I set each piece in place and located...
