Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

That speedo looks in good shape. Be very careful touching, or cleaning the odometer wheels, the old paint will flake off very easy. Nice darn truck !!!

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Like Gary, I like to use period correct hardware. When I can't find old carriage bolts, I dunk the head of new ones in muratic acid for just a couple seconds to take the shine off, or longer to...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

There are people that can repaint a patch and match the patina exactly. I am not one of them, but I think a youtube search would find some results. I am in the leave the old look camp too, but patina...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

A good tig welder can repair those cracks without disturbing too much of the old girls hyde. Only a little touch up near the weld if he goes slow and allows cooling. Should be unnoticeable on the...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Your air device is know as the "Johnson bar". Thats to manually apply brakes to the trailer only on semi trucks. Used in slippery road conditions to try and help you from "jack knifing" the rig. All...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Your spring retainer, we call the bail (bale ? ) anyway, unclip that, then if you look closely at the metal cup thingy you will see some bumps which show you which way to twist it a 1/4" or so and...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck
