Re: Inner wheel bearing race on front spins in hub on 28 Tudor

Another option is to pull the old race and measure the inside diameter of the hub where the race sits with some calipers and call Bert's to see if their oversized race kit will work. Tim

Re: Windshield Wiper Wire Routing

I installed a wiper wire from Bratton's in my May 29 Tudor a few years ago using what sounds like the same route you used and it was plenty long enough. I'd suggest you measure it and call Bratton's...

Re: front turn signals

I was looking to do the same. I ended up using vintage Kawasaki 1000 handlebar mounted marker lights and mounted them on the headlight bar. Swapped the bulbs for 6V dual filament bulbs so I'd have...

Re: Tudor Rubber front floor mat

X2 on the mats from Bratton's. The molded marks for locating the fasteners, seat pivots and trimming may be a bit difficult to see until you held a light correctly to make them visible. Tim

Re: King pins and steering ball questions

Both arms I replaced needed weld repair on the shanks so I called Bratton's and explained the situation and they said I could just pay a core charge. It was cheaper than postage to ship the old ones...

Re: Hemmings 2016 Predictions

The prediction for the rise in Model A prices was based on a resurgence in the market for Cool Model A period banger and flathead hot rods. The market value discussions on the Barn are about stock...

Re: Freeing window regulater handle

Put it in a small can knob end down. Fill with your favorite penetrating oil until the knob is covered and put the can on a shelf where you will be able to find it and let it sit. Check it in a month...

Re: How to preserve wood?

If you want to maximize the longevity of your wood apply your preservative and paint all surfaces after fitting it and prior to installing it.

I've been using Abatron products to stabilize and...

Re: Which type of 6" H&L discs for my rusty frame?

Lots of nooks and crannies on the inside of the frame to reach. Mike V's suggestion allows for flexible access to difficult areas without damaging your sander's pad and wasting sandpaper since you...

Re: Petrol seperating ?

Perhaps the station where you purchased the gas isn't checking their tanks for water and you got a bad batch of gas.

Re: Removing scratches on stainless

You may want to try using Jeweler's rouge and a buffer with very light pressure to see if that does the trick before using anything more aggressive. Tim

Re: How to install a Manifold Heater?

You may be able to use some hose clamps and 1-1/2" ID heat riser preheat tube (There is also 2" tube that may work better depending on the diameters of your heater and valve). Check with your local...

Re: 16 inch wheels?

No problem. As Ronn says there are some nice used ones out there. It took me a while to put a set together. You have to be patient and it takes a while to figure out what problems to look for when...

Re: 16 inch wheels?

I stumbled upon Rally America's web site when I was looking for sources for wires for my 29. I didn't use them but they have an interesting web site. They are manufacturers of wire wheels and also...

Re: Steering Column Mount Conversion, Early to Late

Re: removing wishbone

Not sure how crusty your axle is but I wouldn't recommend using a hammer.

I used a hydraulic shop press, a couple of 5/8" grade 8 nuts and 1-1/2" long hex head bolts, lots of penetrating oil and...

Re: STP in transmission oil

What about the clutch rod? Do you have it adjusted enough to accually push the throwout bearing far enough to release the disc? It may need adjustment. Just a thought. Tim

Re: Water in your Gas ? - Solutions ?

I suspect some of the problem is with the contents of the tank at the station you are buying gas from. I don't see any sounding rods at any of the new stations or cashiers checking tank levels for...
