If the gasket was copper you can reuse it many times over. If its one of them there composition type gaskets its going to be a gamble for sure if it will seal correctly.

Its pretty clear at this point the 1BA and 8BA were both used in any type of vehicle during the 51 and 52 times period. I'm still looking for good usable 1BA blocks with out the valve seat rings...

You may discover some brands of new production bearings actually have more thrust material this meaning they actually measure wider. I find this to be the case with Clevitte 77 brand main bearings....
