I would take a serious look at the original wires to see how good they may be. may be time for a new wiring harness..

I'm not sure I understand your question??? Did you get the dash thing?
It's possible there might not be clips - that the pod is screwed directly to the dash metal.

I used this method for the seals of the valley cover because I have heard they were too thick and the intake hit the bolts.
I cut the rubber piece in half so it was thinner.

It will come out. There are clips and studs that hold it to the main dash. You just have to be agile to get under the dash. If you plan to do a fair amount of work under the dash, better to remove...

If the door sticks out evenly at the rear, the problem is the latch. Also could be that the weatherstripping is too thick.

If a kit, get back to the manufacturer/seller.
Be sure you got the arms on the correct sides.

There are a lot of aftermarket brake lights out there, just look up on ebay or Amazon. As was noted above, any inside unit should be right next to the rear window

You might have the ground wire on the lights on the wrong terminal. Way back when, I had the same problem and I had the bubs wired incorrectly.
