Re: Drum brake ID

Thanks for all the feedback and pictures! Been tearing down an A engine for rebuild and then my 68 took a dump yesterday. I’ll get into the shed and get better pics and measurements.

62 Bird Tire/tube combo

Getting closer to getting the Bird out of the nest (pun!). Brakes are shored up finally. Looking for tires for the new 15 inch wires. What are you all running on wires?

Re: 62 TBird Master Cylinder

Still working on this. Been pretty frustrating. Followed one of the links supplied and set up the new booster with the old mount and the darn from brake line port is just slightly too close to the...

Re: 62 TBird Master Cylinder

Thanks everyone. Sorry, wasn’t able to get out and measure it yesterday. I’m thinking the bracket at the back is what is killing me for space. Need to research these links. You all are the best. More...

Re: 62 TBird Master Cylinder

Ok so I think there’s some confusion going on here, most likely due to my description of the issue. We were just fitting up that MC from the Mustang to see if it would work. It wasn’t already mounted...

Re: 62 TBird Master Cylinder

Yeah I’ll grab some pics later today. Looks like a GM MC to me.

My booster is good. Was curious if a Mustang, LTD MC would bolt to the stock booster.

Re: Tranny shipping box

Not that you asked, but check your local Fastenal. Very cheap shipping. I’ve shipped a few engines with them. Catch is they only go store to store.

Re: 62 TBird Master Cylinder

I’m thinking this was the case.

Re: 62 TBird Master Cylinder

Don’t know the kit, adapter and hardware worked for the calipers, rotors were wrong, bearings were wrong.

62 TBird Master Cylinder

Swapping to disc brakes on the bird. Having issues with the MC that came in the kit - way too big. Was curious what other options there are out there for MCs that would work? Doesn’t need to me stock...

Re: Ford Flathead 4 vs V-8 Frames?

32 with a 4cyl is a Model B. 32 with a V8 is known as a V8.

The Model A run was 28-31

Re: Turn-Signals

I've heard that before, but I actually think it's easier to see the turn signal when the entire brake light is what flashes.
