hard brakes
my 1956 ford fairlane has a very hard brake pedal stops the car ok but as you drive and use the brakes the pedal seems to get harder.
the car still rolls ok so no wheel is locking up.

rear axle ratio
how can i determine which ratio axle my 56 ford fairlane has?
it is a 292 V8 with manual transmission (no overdrive) I dont know if its ever been changed or worked on.

windshield wipers
the wipers on my 56 fairlane are very slow. does not seem to be any leaks in the line from the fuel pump.
any ideas other than replacing motor or going electric.

Engine rough
Have a 56 Ford with 292
Engine is rough with kind of a stumble when reving it up smoothes out when Rpm is higher
Idles ok and doesn't smoke.
Just had the plugs out and cleaned them.wires and dist....

engine backfire when slowing down

how much free play should there be in the rear end when you turn the driveshaft by hand? This is a 56 ford standard rear end.

I am looking to replace the missing rubber splash shields on the inner front fenders on a 56 fairlane.

jack instructions
can somebody tell me where the jack instruction decal was positioned on the trunk lid for a 56 ford. I have one but doesn't seem to be a good flat spot on the trunk lid to stick it.

turn signals
My 56 ford turn signals would not cancel after turning. I took the steering wheel off and the cancelling cam was missing. Bought a new one from Mac`s. Not sure how to position on the steering wheel...
