I would first check and clean ALL of the ends of ALL of your grounding points!!!! Then check and clean ALL the ends of the "hot" side of the starting system!!

I'm fighting sort of the "same" issue.......I'm running straight 40 here in Florida and this is strictly going by the pressure gauge on the car as I have not plumbed in a manual gauge at the block...

On my bone stock 39 Merc Flathead.......I checked all my plugs the other day to see just how its running......the two back cylinders the plugs are "black" and running rich, the other six are burning...

Looks "similar" to what we had made for our 37 Wagon!!! The lamp mounting flange was "horseshoe" shape!!!

Here is another Delivery that was ALSO at the Western National that year, only the third "delivery" to cross my path....here, also, is a second try at the first go around of pictures I have!!!
