I use four long studs and always glue the gasket to the block. I use this to glue it on the block. Just light dabs here and there. Just my way.

Wow. That was my go to place, along with another near there on San Fernando road. Use to be able to see the body,s stacked on top of each other from the street.

Walt, did you happen to use copper coat or any sealer on the head gasket? Also my son is just putting his together, even though it's a V8, but i told him to use a small dab of permatex number two on...

Yep,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i guess greed has set in. They started charging five dollars on the 15th for a car or truck for sale. I to typed in what use to be a bunch of old cars and now get 2001-2017 cars....

Brazing is a no,no. Very easy fix with a small propane torch and some string solder. Clean with a small wire brush that looks like a tooth brush. Very little flux and you will be styling.
