Re: Never rent your car to the studios

Re: 32 sedan patch panels any good ones made?

I believe Flop will only make panels he installs. It is expensive to make by hand and it may need some tweaking on installation. This way they control the whole process. Last I remember he is a...

Re: Conversation with a WWII Veteran

"Sad because as has been said previously if we forget our history we are destined to repeat it !"

Re: Conversation with a WWII Veteran

I had a teacher who served in the war. He said he gave up hunting after the war because after humans animals were no challenge. I'm sure there was more to his story but that's what he told us.

Re: Replacing rings on 1 piston on 8ba

I re ringed and put new bearings in a 72 K10 that was blowing oil. It needed more but that was all I had. Drove it for about 5 years after that and sold it to a guy who did a little work and said...

Re: Do You Carry a Container of Gas in your Trunk?

Gasoline as a liquid does not burn. Vapors do. The cigarette will ignite any vapors on top of the gas but the liquid does not burn. Why a flooded motor will not start. The heat will make more...

Re: Do You Carry a Container of Gas in your Trunk?

I have driven 190 miles between gas stations. While my car can easily do this, many can't. Before my time but I remember reading that the way to get the ultimate shine from a lacquer paint job was...

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

I was speaking with a gentleman from Belgium last week and he told me that there stuff is not taxed more than once. He also said prices on items in the store reflect the sales tax so you don't see a...

Re: Brake light pressure switch

I pondered this and was going to try drilling the pedal and putting in a momentary push button that you would step on every time you hit the pedal. just run the wire along the the pedal arm. A...

Re: Brake light pressure switch

I've had them all fail. If there is a Harley dealer near you any parts guy with triple digit IQ can find you what you need. It may have the spade connectors instead of the bullet.

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

Yesterday in Massachusetts a guy got stopped for bootlegging liquor. They said he had 36,000 dollars worth and the floor of the Suburban had been reinforced for this purpose.
Always someone...

Re: Painting Over Water !!!!!!!!!!!

All air holds some moisture. If water was forming on the metal due to change in temperature, I'm surprised he did not notice the paint or primer not laying down properly. Just to be clear when the...

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

I was talking to Wray about this yesterday and he said he is selling less on ebay and more on his website. I think a website to sell stuff might be the answer to this. Of course maybe people will...

Re: 1950 convertible door glass

I have no experience with this but have you compared the new rubber with the old? Compared glass thickness? Might try trimming rubber where it butts against the spot welds.

Re: flathead oil pan

As Tim said I believe he is looking for the windage tray. His first language is obviously not English, which is fine. I knew what he was referring to. Leave one out of a non pressurized Model A or...

Re: Ebay sales tax in place

Who collects the tax? Ebay or the seller? I do not use ebay anymore for different reasons but it was getting worse. We used to be able to just communicate with the seller and other bidders for...

Re: Cam Degreeing/Checking Important

Not an 8ba because the distributor is times to the crank with a light. The earlier motors it might be a problem because the distributor is timed on a machine and fitted to the cam. You've raised a...

Re: Cam Degreeing/Checking Important

I've been aware of this but have never done it as it is not in the factory manuals. B&S made it sound easy as you just need to get one number and either it all lines up or the cam is incorrectly...

Re: '50 Ford Overdrive

Are you looking for an overdrive or someone to do the job? I personally would try to find an original overdrive if you have a stock flathead. It is a bolt in installation. All you will need is a...
