Re: Not to say it wont happen again tomorrow

I hear good things about pertronix if you cared to switch to electronic. I believe use your distributor and switch out your guts to use theirs. Would still look original.

Seems you talk to 10...

Re: Is there a FANdemic going on????

Re: Renumbering question

my opinion, worth what you paid for it. I would mill it off and restamp.
If you do sell it just be honest about it.

With 2 number, it just raises questions ... may never be a issue, or could on...

Will have to give it a look, When I was working as a carpenter, just keeping the work area clean and tidy was #1 importance. Just daily production from the workers was worthwhile, while safety was...

Re: A few questions on a 8BA

@mart that is good advice ... was your video I watched earlier when you removed your crusty crank, I think would be better off to get it rotating first if I can. And with a little effort I think it...

Re: A few questions on a 8BA

So a change of plans, While I still need to disassemble the engine, think I would be wiser to spend some time and see if can get it un-stuck first.

Re: A few questions on a 8BA

Perfect advice ... expected or not I was not thinking about this ... would be very easy to remove pan while hanging, not make a mess on the floor that needs to be cleaned up.

Re: A few questions on a 8BA

I like that mod to the stand, would be a lot more stable. Well worth the time spent.

Re: New to the Flathead game and need advice

No expert here, I am going to guess what you really want to start with is gearing in the rear end.
Almost ashamed to say, I have a 1949 dodge with a flathead 6, 3 speed on the tree and stock 4:10...

Re: A few questions on a 8BA

I am a total noob to this motor, last week I bought a 8BA motor & trans from a 1951 F100.

So anyway, I assume all 8BA 239 engines are created equal, and the truck 4spd that came with it. I would...
