have reset the timing with a timing wrench that i have used previously on the Coupe (that hadnt run in 10 yrs) then it started right up with basic tuneup.
the simplicity of them is what makes it so...

we looked at that: the ammeter does not wiggle., so prob bad. however, it is passing power between the 2 terminals as we are getting power "downstream". i have an old one i can put in but point well...

ok, went out and added a little oil in the cylinders but no change in the reading - 50

It woudlnt start so i started changing one thing at a time. The ignition switch had gotten real lucy-goosy when you turned key off it kept running or you could pull the key out so i changed that...

yep, got gas, even drips out if i choke it too much. Yeah, i keep thinking/hoping its something simple but its not giving in that easy!

Thanks for the helpful hints.
I have a 30AA and have found that 2sides of the shifter are dround flat. But I don't see any logical way to get it out but to remove the 3 "shifting rods" that are...

Since I have you, I'm changing the trans fluid first time. Can I flush to clean with diesel since I don't have a source for kerosine? Or just put the new 600w in with a splash of STP?

I know this is an old post of the picture with the vent hole...... But...... I've got a '30 AA truck and there is no vent hole anywhere on the tower base, is there a different place on the AA?

Since I don't have kerosene could I use diesel to flush with and then refill with 600w oil?
