Re: 1953 Flathead acceleration issue

Sounds like the accelerator pump is not working. There should have been a new one in the rebuild kit. Make sure it has a snug fit in the cylinder. Also make sure you put in the check-ball to allow...

Re: Jack recall, chinese junk from Harbor Freight

I refuse to buy or use any tools made in China......pure garbage. For jack stands, I have found that old Ford V-8 transmission cases work quite well.

Re: 1940 pickup carpeting?

Try a convertible top shop. I had one do an entire interior, plus the trunk on one of my hot rods. The cost was a fraction of any custom upholstery shop and the workmanship was very high quality.

Re: Are these those special U joint washers?

You are correct in the technica/patentedl name "Belleville".......they are spring washers however, specifically designed for axial load applications.

Re: '40 Disk/Drum brakes, no rear brake problem

If you had to use an adapter for the MC mount, you need to lengthen the push rod by the amount of the adapter thickness, otherwise you will not get enough travel.. I put a BOSS 429 MC (15/16" bore),...

Re: installing electric fuel pump in'39 piccup

Some electric fuel pumps will not pass fuel through when turned off. You might want to check yours for this. I put one on my son's car on a by-pass line, with a check valve to prevent back flow. He...
