Robert Paul “Mr Shock” goes west

I just received a call from Mr Paul’s brother informing me of the sad news that Robert Paul has passed.

Several years ago I sent a large carton of shocks to be rebuilt and the box along with my...

Re: Wireless Turn Signals

I don’t think those are currently in production. Website has been the same for 2 or 3 years.

Re: Dual plug heads.

Aircraft magnetos are usually timed a couple degrees apart. Part of the pretakeoff checks is to disable each mag individually and watch the tach. With a small displacement, carbureted Continental 4...

Re: Model A driving old US395 in winter

My experience with US395 is mostly in summer and fall - I can recall only one time driving in the winter, and it was a fairly benign day, fortunately. I'm not a skier, but used to camp and fly fish...

Re: Model A Amature Radio Operators

Haven't done mobile for a long time. Had a modified Marconi taxi radio (tube) as first 2m FM rig, which supplanted my Heath Twoer on 2m AM. Nowadays I use a KX3 for HF but lately haven't been doing...

Re: Just wondering : what's your year of birth ?

It's surprising, but also really refreshing and encouraging to see a lot of younger folks in this hobby. I thought everyone was my age (67) or older. We need young blood, because otherwise who's...

Re: what am I doing wrong?

It did it again to me, and I haven't erased my history. I'm becoming suspicious that there's something goofy going on with iOS Safari. I might try a different browser, Chrome or Firefox.

Re: Wouldn't start - popout switch strikes again!

It was not an original part - it was a rebuilt original. Only a year old. I installed it in place of the crappy one that was there when I got the car, because I wanted an original look. My bad.
