Re: Gas Tank Renu

Had my pickup tank done by them about 20 years ago and it seems fine so far. I do have a good inline fuel filter just inches from the tank and I run non-ox gas.

Re: Is there a FANdemic going on????

So what should a guy do to prevent this kind of thing from happening? Will regular blade inspections catch everything?

Re: Lost part, lock ring for speedo

It shouldn't come off unless the cable end has been damaged. I'm betting that it has slid forward on the cable.

Re: Motor and trans installed today

You will love the new coated Red's headers. Mine are 20 years old and look like new. Did you polish the intake yourself?

Re: New to the Flathead game and need advice

My pickup has 29" dia tires a 3:54 rear end and a T5 transmission. I love the T5's overdrive and it was basically a bolt in swap with the existing floor shift. There are adapters available for the...

Re: Filling a brakes system

I have both a Mityvac vacuum unit and a Motive Products pressure bleeder. The pressure bleeder works better than the vacuum bleeder. My Mityvac sucks air around the brake valve no matter what I do...

Re: Filling a brakes system

The "power" bleeder pressurizes the brake system and then you open the bleeder valve on the wheel cyl to bleed it. I don't think you wouldn't gain anything by using the speed bleeders.

Re: Stromberg 97 Issue

I asked about the floats as the early units used a plastic float and they had problems with them. My 97's had plastic floats and when I had my S-Jet stick Stromberg sent me brass replacements. I am...

Re: Stromberg 97 Issue

The S-Jet is supposed to be superior to the std needle and seat. Needless to say I had one stick on my new style 97's. Cleaned it out and it hasn't given me any trouble since. Is the float brass or...

Re: 1940-41 Pickup Bed Chains

No chains or hooks but I have a pair of chain covers that you can have for postage. I'm guessing that's what you want the inner-tubes for. They are a little dusty and creased from the chain's loop...

Re: Crabb dist.setup pictures ??

Here is a link to VanPelts website. It shows the dist and plug wiring. The crab dist is the same as the stock '47 dist with the exception of the cap, cap clips and the rotor.

Re: 1941 Ford pickup seat

I basically did this to my stock seat. I also added a little extra foam in the lower back for some lumbar support and that made a huge difference.

Re: Directional signal question

Pretty sure that typically the old brake switch wire is abandoned as all it does is light both rear brakes lights. The power for the brakes and flashers now goes through the new turn switch and...

Re: 38-41 Pickup Body to Frame Bolts

I had all the proper anti squeak welting and it still squeaked. Maybe new, stiffer springs and nylon washers would be the way to go if you wanted to retain the original setup.

Re: how to retain Ford '35 pu shifter

All the washers and spring go on first with the largest washer (7228) on top. Then the 7220 cap slides down the shift lever and screws on the tower (7222) thus holding all the washers and the spring...

Re: 38-41 Pickup Body to Frame Bolts

I removed the springs on mine as they allowed the cab to move around too much and it would squeak and drive me nuts. Bolted her down tight and 20 years later nothing has broken.

Re: Generator rebuild parts

I believe that they are the same as the pass cars. Should be fairly easy to find. Don't know where you are located but C&G Ford shows them.
