Re: starter switch
I have taken the plunger out of a reproduction switch and it works in an original housing.
The nylon tip is the practical solution.

Re: Rebuilt Houdaille Shocks
Add a set of HC6 shocks rebuilt. Sell outright for $1500. Or $1200 with rebuildable cores.
Shipping extra.
Several mixed sets, call for price, and pictures.

Re: starter switch
Some guy did a YouTube rebuilding the starter switch, but he does not use the cross shaped insulator.

Re: Distributor
Might still wear the driver, tool steel might be an alternative, but nothing lasts forever.

Re: Distributor
The tang does wear. Gooder to pull the driver and replace all to eliminate play. However, each connection will probably need to be test fit out of the car. Your solution probably was a lifetime fix.

Re: pedal shaft
Yes. Tom Endy has a great tutorial on this, and I also did a YouTube on bell housing restoration.

Re: MAFCA convention Kerrville
Drop by the repair area at least once, and take a look at the judged cars. You will see your car there. And learn some things from the owner you may not know.
