Re: Shopping for a Trailer

When you do get one, be sure to pack your own wheel bearings before you put miles on it. A friend bought a new trailer from the manufacturer, and only discovered his dry bearings after driving cross...

Re: 30s side panels to hood protection

The 1938 Ford Deluxe hood has seven rubber bumpers attached to its bottom edge: One large bumper at the front, and three smaller bumpers on each side. The front bumper is donut shaped to accommodate...

Re: Coolant additives

This is an example of the power of advertising. This is not to knock the product, but No-Rosion is so highly advertised (including regular targeted mailings), they make it very easy to read good...

Re: fuel pump removal?

You might consider adding a new flywheel gear ring and Bendix to your parts shelf... Just for the hell of it. :D

Re: So I have a little problem...

I think you screwed yourself. Read post #2 & #4 . If you take the engine back to the builder, he will happily void the warranty on the build and drill it for you.

Re: Which way does this go?

Don't assume anything fits right out of the box! Your rubber gasket may be similar, and they expect you to trim it to fit, or otherwise not bother to return it. Consider yourself lucky to have found...

Re: So much for Irish Spring and Dryer Sheets.....

It absolutely can do that. The only water normally remaining in those pipes is the water in the bowl of your toilet. If you flush a live rodent, he's likely to want to continue living by climbing...

Re: convertible rear window question

While others may base their advice on memory, Don Rogers always backs up his advice with research. That is not to say others are wrong, but that you can always take Don's advice to the bank!

Re: So much for Irish Spring and Dryer Sheets.....

There is no poison that selectively kills only rodents. All animals in the food chain are at risk, including animals that eat the poisoned animals.

Re: So much for Irish Spring and Dryer Sheets.....

For myself and other city boys, the task is not to eradicate a world full of rodents, but to deny them entrance to our buildings. I know, lots of barns and outbuildings are not possible to put up...

Re: So much for Irish Spring and Dryer Sheets.....

After conventional traps set with peanut butter rid my basement of rodents, repair of broken vent screens and plugging in several high pitch noise making devices has kept the critters out of my...

Re: Howell's Sheeeet Metal Scam

Not as an excuse or justification, but just to put these "lies" into perspective, a parts counter jockey will tell you "yes they got it" to secure the sale, because he knows that half the time, after...

Now, Lawson, you know better than that. Nobody loves a political party, they simply choose the least of two evils.

Re: 1936 ford diff gear change

All of this, but with respect, a KRW type hub puller, never a three finger type.

Re: Vibration - rumble

Wheel weights may be of the less reliable variety that use sticky stuff instead of the older metal clips. Tires also may separate internally, causing a bubble or other imbalance. It does seem to me...

Re: 39 rear drain plug

As we get older, we also tend to misunderstand each other more often, but of course I never had that problem myself.

Re: Speedometer weirdness

The speedo itself does require cleaning and lubricating. Your previous off-zero may have been an indication of sticky old lube, which freed itself somewhat with the bouncing from the cable. Just my...
