Re: January 6,1954

Probably about $1500 ...lotta coin back then . My late uncle bought a new '52 , then traded on a '53 and finally went to a new '54 ...all pretty much the same shade of green .Obviously he liked that...

Re: 1954 Skyliner Project

Like you said , it will take a lot of time and money to complete . Back when I was young and foolish and getting into cars an old buddy said " estimate the time and money it will take ...and then...

Re: Why so many little 'birds for sale?

I'm a certified Ford nut but for some reason the Bird never appealed to me enough to buy one . I have a lot of Fords on my bucket list but not the T-Bird . The '57 was probably my favourite for...

Re: 1958 Continental - OK to post on this forum?

Beautiful car ....not many around and certainly not in that condition . Yeah a heavy car will frequent gas stations but , like you said , it's worth it . Very classy ride .

Re: Batmobile????????

I respect Barris for his work over the years , but I always thought the Batmobile was one of the most overhyped cars ever . Watching the proceedings on BJ as they auctioned it only confirmed my...

Re: Canadian Clones, Monarchs & Meteors

My father had a '51 Monarch ......very similar to a Merc , but I think the Merc grille looked better . The Monarch had a very majestic looking lion hood ornament that I thought looked cool . Later on...

Re: 59 Ford Trivia

I remember the '59 Galaxie my parents bought , as you say , after the New Year . It was a sharp looking car with the T-Bird roof . Unfortunately my folks chose the gutless 6 for power . I don't...

Re: 1957 Skyliner

I'm always looking at '57s for sale ...check Hemmings , Cars on Line , etc. , for comparables to use in your decision making . 28 k is certainly in the ballpark
but only you know the condition .

Re: sad day today

Hindsight is 20-20 but it looks like the big shots had some infighting and blew it . I might be thinking in 2013 dollars , but the walk between the Ford and the Merc didn't seem to be a big deal back...

Until now I had never heard of Roy Brown or the Edsel connection . As a young teen I remember looking forward to the "space age" styles that prevailed for several years . I didn't particularly like...
