Re: Serpentine System for Flatheads

I had an old ATI super damper that the hole was worn out in, for a small block chevy. I bored the hole to fit the flathead and used a small block pulley.

Re: Serpentine System for Flatheads

I used an ugh, 409 chevy water pump. I wanted the system pressurized with a modern sealed type water pump. Plus I couldn't put the accessories on the owner wanted with twin water pumps. Krylon 32...

Re: Serpentine System for Flatheads

I just made one for a friends project. I don't like v belts for street engines. It does help having the machines to make whatever parts you need. This is for a woman and she wanted AC, PS, and and...

Re: pro or con HEI

I initially machined down an HEI to fit the project we are working on. To me it was too gaudy to have that huge head sticking up. So the owner bought a flat cap MSD for a chevy. I machined it to fit...

Re: Uncle Max help

I installed a fixed orifice pcv fitting, .062 draw by each bank. It doesn't have any effect open or capped off so I think that is pretty good. I opened up the idle bleed as mentioned to .021. It is...

Re: Uncle Max help

They are possibly the same. These are SpeedMaster which was formally ProComp Electronics. As l said it was way too lean so I opened up the bleeds to .021. It doesn't need to be any fatter I don't...

Uncle Max help

I posted a thread about our model A street rod build. The owner bought 3 "stromberg 97s". One day I was working on stuff and I see some boxes come in with SpeedMaster on them. I said what did you buy...

Re: Flathead PCV ????

I'm going to install one in the fuel pump plate. I need to make some type of baffle first. I'm going to drill into the plenum and install a fitting with a tube that will use both banks. This is a...

Re: Install oil filter

I did what is depicted in the sketches above but I also plugged the passage going from the pump cavity to the rear main. I then drilled a new passage down from the fuel pump push rod to the rear main...

Re: Model A street rod

Not yet. Still getting all of the plumbing sorted. And I need at least some exhaust on it. Maybe this week or the next, but I've been saying that for 2 months.

Re: Model A street rod

I have no reason to believe it won't work. It's a high volume pump and the system is pressurized like any other engine. If it tries to run hot I'll add cooling lines to the rear of the motor.

Re: Model A street rod

Here's the remote oil filter. It is full flow filtering not bypass. That was a whole mother can of worms.

Re: Model A street rod

I wrote that in the op. Yes everything is power including the rear glass. The side windows were work but when finished she'll be one of the only ones I've seen with this.

Re: Model A street rod

Thanks Ron. As you can see this is my first flathead (Ford) build, my first Model A, and first time to chop a top. I think it is turning out nicely and the owner is going to be very happy with the...

Re: Model A street rod

That tank is a great topic of debate. One I'll just finish here. The boss i.e. the woman that owns and is going to drive it wants the original filler neck left in as well as the rear tank, I agree...

Re: Model A street rod

I believe you are correct it had 3 planetaries so that's an r10? But it still had the stuff for the leaky rear main.

Re: Model A street rod

That's very interesting that some say there's no problem with a rope seal. I just rebuilt an r11 Borg Warner out of a 50 shoebox with 8ba in it. The car has a very recent restoration. I'm neither a...
