Re: 2020 East West Flathead Reliability Run to Monitor WA

I've been to this show several times and it always brings out some great cars. Maybe 39 Guy will bring out his 40? It shows where he has spent his time.

Re: Fenton's or Red's or ??

I have Red's headers on my 37 with the stock steering box. The engine is a 1940. I had the headers jet hot coated. Had to raise the front engine mounts about 1/2" to obtain clearance.

Re: Flathead Jack

Re: Clylinder head clearance

I checked the old head gaskets that came off my engine, and they measure between .04" to .05". I don't know if they rebound some when torque is released. That gives me about .07" over pistons...

I bought an ARP head stud kit for my flathead, and read somewhere that you should sand the washers prior to installation. Anyone have insight on this? The washers seem to have a cross hatch from the...

Re: Water pump replace

I got my bolts out with a socket that has steel pins inside if it, it fits around what is left of the bolt head and bites in as you twist the socket wrench. Got it at Ace hardware.

Re: '37 Model 77 under bed wood risers

My wood rails appear to be maple, at least a dense closed cell wood, not oak or ash. They appear laminated, but I don't know about dowels, definitely not bolted. The wood deck has metal strips...
