My Oct '28 parts list mentions only 2 long and 2 short bolts with castle nuts and cotters, no lock washers.

I also wondered about the two holes (#3 and #5) close to the wiper arm shaft. They look like someone may have added them to provide snaps close to the wiper.

all from the left edge (driver side)
Hole:
# 1 1-1/2”
# 2 9 “
# 3 10-3/4”

You said you are using the original springs and brackets that you removed from the car and the brackets are 3/4" high as opposed to 5/8". I’m not sure about the ¾” bars.

My Aug ’28 roadster that originally came with a rumble seat has what I believe are the original wood slats and the dimensions are 28 x 1-1/4 x 1/4.

It was a two piece type with an aluminum center part and a fiber outer gear part.
The two sections were starting to separate from each...

I did get a ticket in the 50’s in my ’49 Chevy (sorry) for being "too low" and believe it or not for “excessive acceleration” (drag racing), but not for being souped up.

The car is also in the "50th Anniversary Model A Ford" calendar for April 1977.
The picture is in color and the car is black and shows a vent clearly on the driver's side.
BTW, I own the 1928 60A...
