Re: Leaf spring alignment bolt under axle pad

51 MERC-CT is correct. If you insert your finger inside the spring pad can you feel anything like an alignment pin? Perhaps this will help. Spray some WD-40 on the assembly and gently place a pry bar...

Posie reversed spring #2040, 4 in. dropped axle, dropped steering arms,
5:60 x 15 front., 7:60 x15 rear.

If it has a button on the bottom,perhaps it was put there so the engine could be turned over when working in the engine compartment...like a remote starter button.

Jim, if possible please post a photo of the vent device you need to mount? Shielding it from road debris and moisture with a plastic bottle might be an option. Does it look like the TANKS INC. VVR...

Reversing the stock spring eye's will lower your car 1 more inch. Keep an eye on your scrub line.
There reaches a point where,if you lower it too much, you won't be able to get a jack under the car...

Mr. Texas is correct. It seems that the price of original 33 and 34 sedans are dropping. The old car market is changing.
However, if the car has been upgraded to include all the modern conveniences...

I believe the fender bolts screw into cage nuts welded to the inner fender panel. Perhaps you could use longer threaded fender bolts and mount a bracket to those longer bolts to accommodate the vent...

rotorwrench: Very good tips. You can also install a special sea to prevent drain back but, it's a lot of work to install as you have to pull the rear. You also have to add a vent.

The glass in my 40 was dated a late 1939 also. Shows that left over glass was still being used. Car also has push in and up ash trays. Frame # is 18-5415XXX* Looks like our cars were made at...
