Do not use a die on the threads, it will remove metal! Use a thread chaser, it is designed to reform the threads without cutting away any material.

Menards carries a wide variety of 12-24 bolts, that is where I got mine for the rear hood rod retainer. 1931 Tudor.

John Deere corn head grease is a semi fluid lubricant, not thick as most of us know grease.
