Re: Can I shut off the entire electrical with the key?

I had the same problem and decided to use the Good Shut Off Switch mounted in front of the driver's seat by the floor. You can't see it very easy but using it becomes Habit. I actually let my "A" sit...

Re: Will driving at 55 mph for several miles cause a Model A to overheat?

Many things can cause it to overheat. Timing, plugged radiator, low pressure in the tires, and on and on and on. Do you have a temp gauge? Are you sure it is overheating as opposed to throwing the...

Re: Disappearing spark update - SOLVED (and thank you!)

By the way SDJason, I didn't offer any tips on how to fix your problem but congratulations anyway. Also you are very lucky to have the right temperatures to enjoy a Spring drive. We just broke...

Re: My Solar Powered '31 coupe

I have noticed that all these youngin's want to know the same thing, "How Fast Does It Go?" to which my response is always, "It will do 60 MPH in 15 Minutes". That way they have to think about it...

Re: The QUAIL is Peeing again....

Thanks jkeesey, I'm using the thicker O-Ring. Here's what I think. Since it worked last summer; If I had opened the cap slightly during it's storage this past winter, I think the O-Ring would be O.K....

Re: The QUAIL is Peeing again....

The rubber o-ring did fine last season, but then this time, it starts leaking as I get the speed up on the highway. The O-ring sits in place of the original gasket, which did not seal well enough....

Re: The QUAIL is Peeing again....

Thanks Barry,

I didn't even think of that, but I'll try it. Makes sense too.

The QUAIL is Peeing again....

I took "Miss Tillie" out the other day and lo & behold, the radiator cap is leaking again. I used a new Rubber O-Ring last summer and also used a brass Gasket (from the Gas Gauge, I think) and that...

Re: Finally made Chief of Police

You know, I thought about a Hand Cranker, but even a little one for shows would be fun. I have a Car Show coming up in which I will be giving rides in the Rumble Seat to little kids that would like...

Finally made Chief of Police

This was the only way I could achieve this rank. I made some Magnetic Signs for "Miss Tillie" and will use them in parades and shows only, as they can scratch the finish if left on for any time. It...

Re: painting your model a ford

Kevin, if you're going to refinish the chassis and undercarriage areas, you might want to look at a product called KBS Coating. I use this stuff because it is very hard and nearly indestructable. It...

Re: Tainted BP gasoline alert

I just wonder if this could have some bearing on the fact that my wife and I recently saw a local Brand X tanker truck at a local BP station.

For 25 years I worked the midnight shift in Toledo...

Re: Old Timey Bulk Oil Dispenser

Actually I've been a custom sign painter for over 55 years specializing in pinstriping and airbrushing along with custom lettering, so it's beginning to look like it's going to be FUN... Maybe a Neon...

Old Timey Bulk Oil Dispenser

I was recently offered an old Bulk Oil Dispenser, the kind where you crank the handle and it dispenses one quart of oil. Gonna pick it up tomorrow.:)

I'd like to know, since I plan to restore it,...

Re: Quiet please...!!!!!

You know, I've been to some of the Model A events and even asked some of the Really Quiet Car drivers and they claim they have stock (but not Aries) mufflers.

Quiet please...!!!!!

I just read 'mrraford's' post concerning the difference in mufflers. Brought to mind the fact that I am always bothered by the loud sound of my late model "cheapo" muffler when I first start it. Once...

Re: Can't get Rear Drum OFF...???..!!!!

Actually I used a small sledge hammer, tapped straight on. I'm going to try Special Coupe Frank's thought and drive it down the road a piece. Our block is more like 6 miles around.

Re: Can't get Rear Drum OFF...???..!!!!

No, I didn't set the emergency brake. The drum is still tight on the axle end. I disconnected the emergency brake rods, including the clevis'. I also backed the service brake adjustment wedges "Way"...
