I went out and removed the teflon tape. Gauge still remains past H. I disconnected the wire to the temperature sensor and did the battery test as recommended by Paul. The gauge slowly retreated...

Temperature Sender Wiring
I'm trying to fix the temperature gauge on my 40 Ford. It reads H at all times. There is only one temperature sensor on the left bank. I see it is wrapped with teflon tape. That may be my problem...

40 Ford Coolant Capacity
I have a stock 40 Ford Deluxe. I am going to flush out the cooling system.
How much antifreeze do I need to add? No heater.
P.S. I live in San Diego....it never freezes.

I now have the bracket 91A-2270 so I can proceed installing the parking brake cable.
Can anyone guide me to a photo showing the routing of the cable from the firewall to this bracket? Any photos...
