If they have EVERYTHING that goes to the sportlight including the windshield post installation bracket THEN the size of the drilling bracket will be EXACTLY the same as the sportlight mounting...

Correct - except the screws also attach the windshield frame and once installed are unseen, out of sight therefore using a Phillips head + drill sure makes it a lot easier.
