Re: Marvel Mystery Oiler

I'm really not sure how injecting MM oil would be more effective than adding it to the fuel. I've seen it on Model As and its a comment item at a car show. Looks kind of vintage and "cool". MM oil in...

Re: New Radiator

You can buy an aluminum radiator off of ebay for around $250. Some report good fitment, some not so much so I'd pay attention to the feedback from the different sellers.

Re: battery

Yes, but readers notice he said float charge... make sure you trickle charge or float/maintain charge. I've seen people use a regular charger and then complain that the battery is no good.

Re: Model A serial number verification

Re: battery

$59 for a tractor battery, $199 for an optima. Guess that is why I have a tractor battery. I think it's 6 years old now, still going strong. If I get another 4 years out of it I'll not be surprised....

Re: Wrong Gear Oil?

My experience: I have used Lucas Oil Stabilizer in my A transmission for years. Makes the shifter silky smooth. The "600W" oil I got from the vendors was not good. Try it yourself, Stopped the oil...

Re: Voltage/Amperage question?

So at 9 amps of charge, the battery voltage stays at 6.57 volts? After starting, it is normal to see a high charge rate, then tapering down, but I would expect the battery voltage to be in the 7 v...

Re: Where did my gas go?

As others have said, the fuel vavle isn't sealing off. The carb will likely be damp and will evaporate enough to not drip. Also an occasional drip will be caught by the engine pan, then evaporate...

Re: Foam in coolant - fixed (?)

Did you pull the head and look it over? Using a sealer to fix a blown headgasket is NOT a fix. It may temporarily help, but youll need to do it right if you actually plan on driving it.

Re: Amp draw when driving

The battery voltage at high idle is at 6.9V with 6 amps of charging current? That seems OK, maybe a touch low but 6 amps of charge isn't excessive. If it doesn't level out after a few minutes or the...

Re: Amp draw when driving

Have you checked the voltage on the battery with car off and with car running at high idle? It will tell you a lot. You're going to get a ton of "shotgun" answers that will be pretty well worth what...

Re: Interior Panel Nails, What Size?

I don't remember what size I used but if you are using the same wood, it helps to use a bit longer nail than original, just in case you happen to hit an old hole, it will still hold. I used brass...

Re: Doesn't Want to Restart After Running a While

Read the posts. OP states there is no spark at the plugs. Check the point gap, if its too close that can cause this issue, the next step probably would be to change out the condenser, I hate to tell...
