Re: PCV on 8BA

Re: 40 Ford serial # location... update

I've built dozens of IFS 35-40 chassis and I always let the customer take care of re stamping the numbers if needed.

Re: Do dual carbs both need a choke?

I've had 3 FH powered cars with dual carbs and I never hooked up the chokes. That said I never drove the cars in really cold weather so I never had any problems getting them started.

Re: Clutch Adjustment on a 40

I'm no clutch guru but isn't 1 inch of free play a lot? I've been telling my customers about 1/4 inch and monitor it so it stays that way. Am I cutting things to close?

Re: Another flathead Ford on the May cover of Street Rodder mag.

Great looking motor but I'll bet it's cost would make me faint. Another Brizio winner.

Re: How much brake line does it take to do an old Ford?

AN uses a 37 degree flare and regular automotive is 45 degrees. When you do stainless you do a single flare but it is backed up by a compression sleeve that's held tight against the flare by the nut...

Re: How much brake line does it take to do an old Ford?

I buy mine in 6 ft sticks and on all the 35-48 customer chassis I plumbed I used about 4 sticks per chassis. I do stainless with AN fittings and with just a single flare I have very few do overs.

Re: Boling Brothers Brake Conversion

That looks correct. They do have a Chevy bolt pattern flange that requires a little massaging for most aftermarket MC brackets as they are designed for Ford MC's. I use P&J under floor MC mounts on...

Re: Boling Brothers Brake Conversion

The master cylinder numbers are Cardone 10-1292 and 10-1329. They have 2 bolt flanges. The only difference is they exit on different sides. I'm not in the shop so can't tell you which sides they exit...

Re: 32 door latch: Repair or replace?

Speedway is also making them but I'd stick with UP.

Re: 32 door latch: Repair or replace?

I've used the United Pacific latch and it's a well built part that fit's and works good.

Re: Boling Brothers Brake Conversion

meric42 I was simply referring to a MC designed for drum/drum brakes. There is nothing wrong with your setup. On my new installs I use a dual master cylinder designed for drum/drum with residual...
