Re: Why do you own a Model A?
My father bought a brand-new Model A Tudor in 1930. I was born in 1934 and came home from the hospital in that car. Here is a picture of me standing next to it in 1938. He built the 8-foot wooden...

Re: spark plug wires
Kube.
In 1996 I replaced the original style sparkplug wires with the “modern” type with molded ends. This year two of these wires failed, the metal press-on connections burned out. As a temporary...

Re: Condenser Problem?
I finally got back to fixing the car. My son-in-law, who has been helping me with car repairs in my old age, has been very busy in his job. He says that the used car business has been wild lately....

Re: Steering Wobble Troubleshooting
Some years ago after doing many of the things mentioned above, I replaced the radius rod/wishbone socket. I believe that the old one was a poor quality repro. This really helped a lot.

Re: Condenser Problem?
Well, my luck has run out again. When we got the car running on March 7, I drove it to my barn which is about 500 yards from my workshop. In the meantime, I have been in Houston doing doctors visits...

Re: It’s getting harder to drive my A
I'm 86 and still drive both of my A's and both T's. The hardest one drive and to get in and out of is my March, 1928 open cab pickup. the people who drove these pickups must have had really short...

Thanks again Patrick. I just put in the third new condenser and the car fired right up with a cloud of smoke from all of my previous tries.

Re: Ignition Problem?
Thanks Patrick, I tried what you suggested and couldn’t get it to work. Then I checked the voltage again at the point arm and it fluctuated between zero and 0.2 volts. The next try it measured zero...

Success at last. Thanks again to all of you. My son-in-law was finally able to get here and help me. We removed the hood and generator/fan which made it easy to get to the distributor. We found that...

Re: New member with "new" 1922 Model T
I like the looks of this 1922 roadster. It looks like mine except that it has a slanted windshield and mine is vertical. I think that this a later 1922 model. Also the previous owner painted mine red...

I’m 86 and walk with a cane but I still work on and under my old Fords. I have a large rug which I lay on the floor and kneel and lay on it. When I work under my V8’s, I use jack stands but I seldom...

Thanks rotorwrench, as this is interesting and helpful for me. I took notes from Mr. Patrick in 2013 and he said to use points from the early OHV Fords. I’ll probably take the distributor to the...
