Re: Crankshaft ratchet nut dimensions

I want to thank you again for the help. Was able to remove the sensor adapter from the 3D printer today. Fits like a glove.

Re: Crankshaft ratchet nut dimensions

Different sizes? That would be annoying...

It's just very difficult to measure.

Crankshaft ratchet nut dimensions

Hello guys, happy easter again ...
Can someone tell me the dimensions of the nut? I need the wrench size and the height of the screw head with the ratchet claws.
I want to build a cap for a...

Re: Wrap the steering wheel with rope?

Today I finally had the time to take care of my steering wheel. And now after about an hour of work I have a Ford Model A with a sports steering wheel!

Re: Wrap the steering wheel with rope?

Maybe, but how many people wrap leather around the steering wheel and how many opt for the vintage racing look with cord?:D

Everyone has their own taste.;)

Re: Wrap the steering wheel with rope?

Thanks Jackson for the Youtube link. The variant with the leather cover and the nylon cord doesn't appeal to me, but it was a good indication of what to look for. I clicked a little further and...

Re: Wrap the steering wheel with rope?

Well, I have an old tube radio (Mende 205 W) from 1939 with a Bakelite housing, which was once clear varnished. The paint was already peeling off.

Re: Wrap the steering wheel with rope?

Well ... Bakelite is a phenolic resin, and it is difficult to paint over the long term because it outgasses. The paint will always come off and peel off over time. I wouldn't like that, so I don't...

Re: Wrap the steering wheel with rope?

Well I drive with white gloves. Now they are getting dirty. When the cord is around, both should stay clean as possible. But time shows that. If necessary, you have to replace the cord again.

Wrap the steering wheel with rope?

Hello guys, I have a question.

My Bakelite steering wheel doesn't feel very nice and you always get dirty fingers because the Bakelite rubs off. I've tried cleaning several times, but it keeps...

Re: LED Turnsignals

The problem with the flashers for LEDs is that not only the 6V are decisive. You also have to make sure that you use some for positive ground! The modern flasher units for LEDs work electronically,...

I was about to write too. I was a little confused. But nice to know that people are also looking for solutions in the old posts, and not just writing new posts!

To answer your old problem...

Re: LED Turnsignals

You simply have to exchange the Ba15s socket of the "large" light chamber for a Ba15d socket. You can then use a two-filament light bulb for the stop light and taillight. The turn signal lamp then...

Re: Air filter for right-hand drive vehicles?

Well, how many previous owners has the car had since 1934? Maybe someone retrofitted something beforehand. 87 years is a long time.

Re: Loosen / tighten individual cylinder head nuts?

Because you could burn yourself if you touch it. No not true. The isolation is actually for optical purposes only. It looks more appealing, and you don't see that it is pipes and fittings from the...

Re: Loosen / tighten individual cylinder head nuts?

Ah, thanks for the hint. I once bought a set with many seals and this rubber was included. But I never found out where it belonged. I can retrofit it now.

Re: Loosen / tighten individual cylinder head nuts?

Yes, that's my plan too (parts are already here.) ... At least it's plan B. Plan A would be an original 6V engine. But it's hard to find.

Re: Loosen / tighten individual cylinder head nuts?

It is hard to see in the pictures, but the pipes have 3mm clearance on all sides in the bulkhead and can move. The transition to the heat exchanger is then built with rubber hoses. I would not like...

Re: Loosen / tighten individual cylinder head nuts?

Normal is relative. It's not normal, but it's quite common. There is no oil supply on this side, so it can only be a mixture of soot and water. (I have too.) If there are only 1-2 drops, I'd just...

Re: Air filter for right-hand drive vehicles?

Thank you, learned something again. I had thought there was a better solution than the dripping air filter next to the exhaust, but I had no idea that the better solution would be to do without the...

Air filter for right-hand drive vehicles?

Re: Sealed beam foglights wanted.

I'm actually looking for clear lenses. I don't like the amber that much.

Measuring that is the problem with the matter. The headlight, where the lamp should go in, has an inner diameter of 144mm...
