Re: Upcoming Auction, Some nice V8 Ford's

I wonder if the picts are random. Reason I ask, they mention a '67 Camaro Pace Car. Super rare car. There was more than 67 built. Some estimates say could be close to 200. Regardless, it's...

Re: 4bbl intake for 8BA

Not sure where you are located, but this has been on Craigslist for some time. Seems like a decent deal if the carb is indeed rebuilt.

Re: Brake flaring tool & tube straightener suggestions

Thank you for the generous offer and sage advice.

Spoke to my buddy who is a Snap-On dealer. He is going to loan me their top of the line flare making tool, so I think I'm set. I have the...

Re: 8BA Truck Motor - Oil

I agree with this for a used motor. Remember, when this motor was new, they sold "recycled" oil. Any modern oil would seem like Champagne to this engine.

Re: Fenderwell Headers SBC 40 Pick Up Help

I don't know for certain, but I'd assume ones used a Willy's would work. The fenders of both are similar.

Re: Who lightens flywheels? Looking for a shop

I thought about that and have a "lipped" flywheel with the 9" clutch. I was concerned that the 9" wouldn't hold up to a hipo flathead of around 190 hp.

I went with a 10" clutch on a aluminum...

Re: Brake flaring tool & tube straightener suggestions

Thanks, all. So I noticed the tube straightener tool is $100 on it's own. Any Yankee engineered home built ones? I can see spending $100 on a piece of plastic with some wheels inside.

Brake flaring tool & tube straightener suggestions

Hi All:

Preparing for a possible lock down and would like to order a brake flaring tool and tube straightener for coiled stock.

What do you recommend?

Think of this:

Re: Need to know

Standing next to Ronnie's car and hearing it run is sensory overload. The amount of pressure and the sound of the exhaust coming out of the pipes is remarkable.

Re: 39 Mercury trans cover/shifter seal?

I forgot exactly what my friend said, but lets say Ford built 4,000 tubs in '40. Merc. built like 1,200. It was some crazy ratio less than Ford.

Re: This AWFUL Bug...Explained!

I do not agree with Ol Ron or Tubman on this.

Why can't the two of you just walk on by so to speak?

This is an unusual and scary time for all of us.

Coopman provided factual...

Re: 39 Mercury trans cover/shifter seal?

I can get them from Scott if you don't have them. Yes, I was one of the pallbearers at Mr. Shepherd's funeral. Truly a great man. Many fond memories of him.

Re: 39 Mercury trans cover/shifter seal?

Hi Clem:

Thanks for the correction. Shows how little I know about these cars. Haha. I do recall them being different ('40 Merc v. Ford). Is that correct or am I wrong on that too?

Re: 39 Mercury trans cover/shifter seal?

I am still amazed that Ford would have different stampings for a '39 Merc and '39 Ford.

My buddy did a '39 Ford four door convertible for his father. At a show, someone have a '39 Merc four...
