Re: 35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

Re: 35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

Ok! I FINALLY got the tower off last night. Confirmed this is a 40-7222 marked 33-35 tower.

I'm not really seeing any crazy wear or marks, but I also don't know what I'm looking at. Opinions?

I have a 1937 21 stud (pump in block) V8, with '42 V8 radiator hoses. How the heck do you keep the stant type thermostats from being pushed up into the radiator hoses? I searched around on here, as...

Re: 35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

Here is the shifter. I was surprised how unworn the side nub is. and equally surprised how bent(?) the bottom one is.

Re: 35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

I did not have time to look into this over the weekend. I'll pull the shifter and get a pic tonight. Rotor, I will check, but I am very confident it is a 48-7006.

Re: 35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

I was not careful enough in my description, so sorry for the confusion. To clear a couple questions up:

There was no actual "boom" noise, I was using that word to imply how suddenly and...

35 Transmission - Getting locked out of Gear

I have a slant tower 1935 transmission mated to my 37 flathead. The problem I am encountering is when coming to a stop, I am used to shifting into neutral and braking to a stop. Shift to neutral,...

SoCal Uplholstry shop? (that knows stock A upholstery)

I have a 31 roadster, and new stock upholstery sets for the front and rumble seat springs. I'd rather have a pro install them, and because of the weird wrap on the quarter panels and tack strip, I'd...

Re: 30-31 Roadster "Hip Panel" Upholstery?

Thanks Bob! That does help a bit... but I do still have a question on how the leather meets the steel body on top and doorframe... is it butt against the steel and tacked, or is it wrapped around...
