Re: Water pump "studs"

Yes Brent, I can believe someone replacing a water pump. I have been on many a tour and someone is having issues and walk up and they have replaced the coil, then the carburetor, then the...

Re: Model A Aircraft Kit

If you search the internet for "Pietenpol Air Camper" you will come up with a lot and maybe who has the plans for building one. I know a friend just north of Charlotte that has the plane done, just...

Looks really nice, will have to check to see what's on my S/W Town Sedan? I don't like the one on my 30 Pickup, maybe I will order it and replace that one. I like the looks of it. Thanks for...

Re: Engine Bearings

WisconsinJimmy
Just a comment, the trend currently is to "insert" the Model A like Ford did starting around 1936. It really makes it a modern engine and you can do a lot more performance wise with...

I think these were a aftermarket shock produced in the 70's I believe? I've seen them before and have some literature on them that I can't put my finger on at the moment. I think they have...

Re: Shocks for a Model A 1930 pickup

I have a set of tube shocks on my 30 Pickup (it came that way I didn't put them on) and would take them off in a minute. As soon as I get time I will rebuild a set of original shocks for it. The...

Re: Registration process in North Carolina

Hopefully your engine number matches the number on the title? If it doesn't you will have to do a bond for a certain time and then they will send you a clear title. 29 Years ago when we came down...

Re: Fact or Fiction: Headlight Lens Gasket

My 31 S/W Town Sedan had silvered reflectors when I bought it 38 years ago, every car coming towards me at night flashes their lights at me. They are as bright now as they were when I bought the...

Re: Benefits of a thermostat?

I've run one early on when I got into Model A's. Every car has had a thermostat since sometime late 30's early 40's and like one of the other post mentioned it's to keep the engine at 160 or what...

Re: Simple to make and use Toe-In gauge

That's interesting, I have the manufactured gauge and you put it on the front and move the car forward. It has a gauge that you read when it's rolled forward. I took a shower curtain rod that's...

Re: Conversion to 12 volt system

I've driven both my A's for over 34 years and never had a single problem with the 6 volt system. You can run your phone and GPS off the 6 volt system as they both only take 5 volts. If it doesn't...
