Re: Gas-Per-Mile

Re: fish scale instead of torque wrench
Up through the '50's, maybe '60's, most guys grew up watching/helping their dads/grandpas, uncles, older cousins, etc. overhaul engines, transmissions, etc., so early on developed a 'feel' for how...

About $25 online, or browse pawn shops. Beam type wrenches are very simple and reliable, As long as the pointer sits at zero, a used one should be fine. If the pointer is off center, some Harry...

Ah yes, 'tis the season for bench racing! Let's keep it coming; NOT to put each other down, but to share ideas, compare notes! Discussions like this are educational, especially for us onlookers.

But those are the 'click-type'. They are no good for checking pinion bearing preload! When checking preload you must take the reading as the pinion shaft is turning steadily. The reading is...

Any more than two carbs is strictly for looks and/or bragging rights! "Oh look! His engine has three carbs! It's got to be faster than that lowly flathead with only two carbs! Hey, here's one...
