Re: 1936 lower radiator hoses installation

Sounds like the diameter of the hose is too large for the outlet.

Re: Removing upper steering shaft grommet

It shouldn't be much of a problem with an open car. It's a bear on a closed cab pickup, however.

Re: 37 & up car steering gear pittman arm nut size?

Use a "suggestable" wrench. I have a large crescent wrench that comes in handy a lot of times.

Re: Accelerator foot rest

Get one of the repo footrests as used on 34 Forda and 35 pickups. Just a small "frog stool"* kind of thing that is adjustable. Works great.

* That's a mushroom to most folks. LOL

Battery Tenders

For years I have used a Battery Tender to keep my Optimas fully charged. Worked well for years. This was a box about 4x5x6, or close. Well, I think it finally bit the dust, at least the battery did....

Re: Trick to remove OFF ON ignition plate

I used a dremmel tool with a cut off disc to cut a screw driver slot in the head of the pin and "unscrewed" the pin. Worked like a charm. (I couldn't do that now as my hands are too shaky.)

NOS front brake drums

While going through my stash of parts I found some NOS front brake drums. One 36-39 wide 5, and two what I believe to be 40-48, I'm not exactly sure, they are up on the top of the office ceiling and...

Re: 1936 Ford V8 Service/Restoration Thread

Nice looking 36. I see nothing wrong with the car other than the accessory grill guard. That is not a Ford authorized accessory, but I sort of like them myself. Welcome to the barn.

Re: Spring clamp torque value?

You young fellers need to understand something. Old Ford mechanics or shade tree mechanics didn't use torque wrenches. We just tightened the nuts up till they felt right and went with it. Don't...

Re: Gas Tank Fuel Gauge reading question

What a useless discussion. What difference does it make? The car ain't going nowhere on water, regardless of what the gauge reads. ROFLMAO
