Re: Where are you at HERSHEY

I'm in the Green field at GBL35. My white box truck will be behind me.
I'm bringing a nice 35 block and good crankshaft and some other engine parts. I've also decided to bring my promotional auto...

Re: NJ race of gentlemen 2019

Did you get into the pits? Last year I waited in line to buy a pit pass, then they closed the pits and didn't allow me to enter.

Re: Anyone with experiences working with Gocat speed shop?

What part of PA? I use Barry Ober - Ober's Performance in Lititz PA. Typical long wait for a busy shop but never a disappointment

Re: Cutting domes in 21 stud aluminum heads?

Thanks for that, I suspected flat was better but couldn't get a clear answer on that. What deck clearance is minimum there?

Re: Fenton 2x2 intake. Good, bad, or ugly?

I was wrong. My Fenton is very different - see pics.

Anyone have experience with this one How do they work? Can you run progressive linkage because one carb is in the center of the engine?

Re: Fenton 2x2 intake. Good, bad, or ugly?

I have a Fenton like that that does clear the generator, at least with 94 carbs. It has the script between the carb flanges as in that photo. I can't be sure it's exactly the same without measuring.

Re: Flathead repair

Drop the muffler out and try it again. Run a wire up the exhaust pipe from muffler to engine looking for a blockage. Has the car been together long enough for rodents to full the muffler or pipes...

Re: Flathead repair

Definitely sounds like that. Where is the air through baffles sound coming from when you hear it? Rear of the car?

Re: How would you fix severly pitted crossmember metal?

Leading should work fine, would be harder than epoxy or body filler.

Re: Flathead deck height

Right, I understand, I have granite surface plates and the related equipment and use them daily, but I can't see Ford pulling blocks out of production to put them on a plate and installing a mandrel...

Re: Flathead deck height

I'd love to see what tools Ford used to check that dimension and some other difficult features on the flathead in the early '30s.

Re: Flathead deck height

FWIW, as a quick and dirty check I measured a 37 block this morning. I used a pair of dial calipers from the main bearing saddle to the deck, then added half the bearing bore. The bearing bore looks...

Re: Flathead deck height

Thank you Dale! You are generous! Most folks won't appreciate what you just gave away in terms of hours spent to create and validate that.

Re: '36 Radiator - looking for shop suggesting in South-Central PA or source for new

Stoner Radiator Repair is just south of Lancaster at The Buck. Jack Stoner is a long time sole proprietor and does things the old school way. He repaired a T and a 36 PU radiator for me, as well as...

Re: Flathead deck height

Many thanks, both of you. I've also been looking for that number for years. Would a 221 block be the same?

That's a great drawing, Bored and Stroked, thanks much for sharing it! Is there a chance...

Re: silicone brake fluid proof brake light switch

I don't think it's the silicone fluid making them fail. I started having those switches fail 40+ years ago before there was silicone fluid. old ones lasted for years, newer ones failed in a year or...

^^^^This. It's called "structured transactions" and it's getting quite serious. Used to be that there had to be an underlying illegal activity for the law to apply, now it's a simple arithmetic...

Re: 1936 LB marking

Ebay is a pretty good indication of availability, and I haven't seen squat for 36-38 main bearings for the past half dozen years, except for standard size.

I have 2 pairs of flanged rods...

Re: Finished - Custom 20x10 Super Singles For My 1936 1-1/2 Ton

Re: Ford ran 2/3 cars at the 1035 Indy 500?

Does anyone know what the waterpump setup is on these? I've never seen a photo that shows one.
