Hereís a couple pics I pulled off Facebook today. Yes I see the recess in the Ď36 firewall but the Ď39 firewall is unaltered.

Iíve seen plenty of Ď35-Ď36ís with sbcís and recessed firewalls too. ...

These are probably prohibitively expensive but dang they look like a perfect match to a Flathead Fordís narrow intake manifold.

I used a Magnum 4” drop axle which actually lowers the car 2”. It works and performs perfectly and the car handles well (I dropped the rear slightly more than the front, I hate a forward rake on fat...

I wonder if Ford did or didnít have a ďskunkworksĒ type of operation in place that may have helped in certain ways with things like combustion chamber design or those exquisite exhaust manifolds etc....

How much torque were these engines producing and what rpm range did they run in? Itíd be interesting to know those figures.

As a side note I believe those Novi V8ís that were mentioned earlier...

I donít think you guys realize that the small block Ford swap described earlier does not require cutting either providing you adapt the engine to the early trans just like any other installation.
