Re: Power Nation Flathead

Re: Power Nation Flathead

But then again is 120+ really that unrealistic especially with a 7:1 or 7.5:1 CR?
My 50 Merc with 6.8:1 or possibly even less will get my Mercury going down the highway between 85-90 MPH but...

Re: Power Nation Flathead

The last flatheads including 1954 (and yes in Canada we enjoyed them for an additional year so change your title to 1954 ;-) were rated 120-125 with a single OEM carb. 7.5 CR and of course weren't...

Re: Ford V8 vendors

Re: valve seat cutter

I use Neway and seems to me they are made in Australia. They also work great on Stellite seats as well and what I like about them is you don't spray all of your open cylinders and valve/lifter valley...

Re: Installing New Head Gasket

As others have mentioned the nuts in this case should be lubricated with a good heavy motor oil and if you don't have a diagram showing the torque pattern, years ago one instructor told us that...

Re: flathead mercury EAC engine info needed

First thing to do is pull the heads! Check for cracks of course and perhaps a piston out of the group of 8 is bottom dead center and measure the stroke. Another thing is after determining you don't...
