Re: Gen charging Q

Your diode type cut out has to be connected properly to work. Is your battery connected + to ground, if so turn the diode around and reconnect. Right now you have it connected battery - to ground.

Re: Columbia Syncro Clutch Assembly

The later parts are considered a little bit better, but there is nothing bad about the 12 tooth. The 12 tooth is pre-war and the 24 is 46-48. Assemble the clutch over a sun gear so you wind up with...

Re: Need for early condensers?

Ford list all of the V8 era 4Cyl ignition condenser as 0.20 to 0.25 mfd. All the V8, I can find a rating for, are listed as 0.33 to 0.36 mfd. Will the 4 Cyl. work yes for a while but there is about...

Re: Greasing a front spring on a 39 pickup

Nearly impossible to lubricate a NOS spring without taking it apart and cleaning 80 year old grease out of the lubrication grooves that each leaf has.

Re: Trying to rewire 35 horn

If your 35 vehicle is a car you want the Sparton CL-6 horn. The two horns on the Deluxe car are two slightly different tones. I believe this is done with two slightly different thickness diaphragms...

Re: 39 ford

If your going to lubricate anything do not use WD-40 it is not a true lubricant. It is Water Displacement product. Lots of much better true lubricants to use.

Re: Trying to rewire 35 horn

Looks like someone stripped some of the internal parts in the G22283 replacement horn. The original has a solenoid coil, adjustable contacts and a capacitor. Without power on the horn the contacts...
