Re: Problem with front axle made of a mixture of parts.

"Would it be safe to heat and bend the arms on the Spindles."

That's how it is done. Do not try to modify the tie rod ends! With a dropped axle you have to bend the arms if you are using...

Re: 1936 pickup changing motor to a mercury motor

What year(s) Mercury are you considering? Believe the earlier Mercury blocks had a larger bore and then later a longer stroke. Nothing really magic about a Mercury vs Ford engine, you can bore out...

Re: trying to reach Yankee Mike

How did you pay? Should be fairly easy to take care of if it was card or PayPal.

Re: 1934 steering gear fluid

Re: disc brakes & distributor

Ya, should have expanded that. I was thinking the 9 inch axle conversions then to disc. I run the 9 inch axles and was answering too quickly without really going into it. Thanks for pointing that...

Re: disc brakes & distributor

Yes and Yes. You can do about anything if you want to spend the money. A lot of venders sell front disc conversion kits, I think Hot Rod Works has the rear stuff. The distributor change takes a...

Re: exchange 8ba cyl heads with 59ab

That was my understanding. The head gasket controls the water flow, IF the corresponding water passages are there in the block (as in added).

Re: Standard or Deluxe Model?

I could be wrong, but I read the OP as how to tell if an original std has been restored as a dxl or visa versa.

Re: Replacing Wagner Flasher 535

X is power (input)
L is load (power out)
P is pilot light

I'm not sure how consistent the wire color coding is between different models, but power in should be easy to determine. That just...

Re: exchange 8ba cyl heads with 59ab

If I remember correctly, you use the head gasket that matches the head. That should help direct the water flow toward the rear of the block. Need to check how the water passages in the block match...

This is interesting. I used the site that proceeded this one and then later in time this one. If I remember correctly there was a notice posted several years ago about some of the information going...

Re: 8BA compression issues

When things come from China (the cheap stuff) there is no telling what you get. That is why you need to check. The other lesson is consider the suppliers you are purchasing this stuff from! Many...

Re: 8BA compression issues

Yep, that is not going to work well with a 6v system!

If your interested in the math, Voltage/Resistance = Current (V/R=I). In general terms you want around 4.0 amps at the points. So, at 6.0...

Re: 40 Heater recore??
