Re: disc brakes & distributor

Yes and Yes. You can do about anything if you want to spend the money. A lot of venders sell front disc conversion kits, I think Hot Rod Works has the rear stuff. The distributor change takes a...

Re: exchange 8ba cyl heads with 59ab

That was my understanding. The head gasket controls the water flow, IF the corresponding water passages are there in the block (as in added).

Re: Standard or Deluxe Model?

I could be wrong, but I read the OP as how to tell if an original std has been restored as a dxl or visa versa.

Re: Replacing Wagner Flasher 535

X is power (input)
L is load (power out)
P is pilot light

I'm not sure how consistent the wire color coding is between different models, but power in should be easy to determine. That just...

Re: exchange 8ba cyl heads with 59ab

If I remember correctly, you use the head gasket that matches the head. That should help direct the water flow toward the rear of the block. Need to check how the water passages in the block match...

Re: Where has billben/flathead gone

This is interesting. I used the site that proceeded this one and then later in time this one. If I remember correctly there was a notice posted several years ago about some of the information going...

Re: exchange 8ba cyl heads with 59ab

There are some hole location and size differences I believe, but a simple modification.

I was aware of that site, didn't realize it was related to the site in question.

Re: 8BA compression issues

When things come from China (the cheap stuff) there is no telling what you get. That is why you need to check. The other lesson is consider the suppliers you are purchasing this stuff from! Many...

Re: 8BA compression issues

Yep, that is not going to work well with a 6v system!

If your interested in the math, Voltage/Resistance = Current (V/R=I). In general terms you want around 4.0 amps at the points. So, at 6.0...

Re: 40 Heater recore??

Just a thought. Had a friend with a 65 Comet that developed a major leak while he was driving it. It was blowing very hot radiator fluid on him and he wrecked the car. Now, this was a later...

Re: 1932 Radiator distance?

My experience with some 33/34 aftermarket rods is they are a little long and require cutting to fit.

Re: 8BA compression issues

If you checked the first two coils correctly that would sure present a problem! Looks like your on the right track now. Never know what you have until you check.

Re: Steering box adjustment

I use a "V" shaped file. Takes a little time, but makes lining things up easy (this is required because of using a steering box in a different application than it was originally designed for! :)).

Re: 8BA compression issues

Sid, this depends on the coil. Different coils have different internal ohm ratings. A lot of the older coils were basically the same (around 1.5 ohm internal resistance) and would work on 6v...

Re: What Electric Pump do you recommend?

Just doing a search on "Airtex" and "Facet" will give you lots of results including peoples experience with them. Such as:

I read that as only the connection block, not the wheel cylinders?

I would start by trying annealed...
