I see what you mean......I guess I would talk to whomever you bought the block kit from and see if they offer the longer block....I don't suppose you have the old blocks?

My drag ling showed evidence of having rubbed on the tie rod. The spindle arm was bent.

I've used a puller that I had from a previous project. Worked fine. There are pullers specific to the model A available from the vendors.

This is the one I have.....it's getting a little...

The shim(s) go between the thrust bearing and the spindle. See picture.

If you have Les Andrews book there is an entire section on kingpins..there are diagrams on pages 1-212 and 1-213.

Watch that you don't put stress on the steering column.

It is attached to the bottom of the fuel tank which will lift along with the body.

Those fuel tank column brackets can leak so be careful...

I was able to fish mine out using a telescoping type magnet and then grabbing it with vise-grips and pulling it out backwards

Mine had broken off so once I removed the screw type top portion it...

When I changed the stock motor mount for the float-a-motor, I just used the stock bolts...seemed to work fine..

Curiosity got the better of me so I took the hood support off and sure enough, mine at least, is a tube....

Smaller at this end also, no doubt due to wear...

I measured mine as you can see, it is slightly smaller on the ends near the sockets.

The section I measured is suppose to have part of the hinge around it but the hinge has been missing for a long...

Did you clean the contact surfaces of the points?

If you have power at the point arm but no spark at the plugs it may be the contact surfaces are corroded....I had to clean mine this spring.....

When I was a kid I told my dad that I didn't think the Model A would do well in snow.....what with those narrow tires and not much traction....

But he told me that a Model A would do quite well in...

When I first got my pickup and inspected the brakes I found the e-brake clevis pins installed opposite the correct way, with the split-pins outboard.

You can see the wear...through to the pin...

First of all, an AA four speed has nearly the same gear ratios in 2nd, 3rd and 4th (1:1 final) as the A three speed does in 1st , 2nd and 3rd (1:1 final).
