Re: 1932: Bixby Bridge, Big Sur, Ca

A great picture of a classic bridge. Across the road from the old Fords you can see where the old coast road goes off to the left. I haven't driven that road for a number of years but I assume it is...

Re: scissors lifts

I had a similar shop with a wooden floor and the building built on wooden posts. I didn't dare do any welding with the wood floor and a lift was out of the question. So, I cut out the floor, joists...

Re: 34 cdan

Elwood, I wouldn't think you would have to replace the whole fender well and that the lower 4" in most cases would do. Assuming that's the case you should be able to form the bottom segment from...

Re: Brake Shoe & Lining

I would go for the semi metallic composite material. I don't think anyone offers shoes relined with this material as a standard product but JG Brake drum will reline your shoes with semi metallic and...

Re: Brake drums. Parts is parts?

I bought front drums from Speedway for my 34 hydraulic conversion. They were both out of round and rubbed on the backing plate. I returned them for a full refund. No problem with Speedway. I think...

Re: Right hand drive steering worm advice needed

These RHD issues can be confusing. I bought a RHD sector from MAC's and it was correct and was good quality. I also bought a drag link rebuild kit which included springs, cups and end screws. The end...

Re: labaron bonny/ SMS

David is right. SMS is mostly in the fabric business. I had a good experience with them. I wanted a period looking material for my Model A that was made from synthetic fiber and moth proof. They had...

Re: Need a source~~~~~!!

Made one out of teak, scavenged from a local boatyard. My 37 LaSalle liked it. Carb stays cool.

Re: 1940 LaSalle Fuel Starved

I was told that with a leaky diaphragm, the laSalle pumps could dump fuel into the crank case. I'm not sure this is the case, but since the bottom half of the pump is a vacuum booster for windshield...

Re: 29 Model A Project-Speedster?

Go to secretsofspeed.com, Charlie Yapp's publication. A ton of information on speedsters and banger engine modifications.

Re: The old guys

With all you 80+ year old guys weighing in and me being only 79, I feel like a kid!
I went to Home Depot in my 31 A. When I came out of the store a couple of women were looking at it. I told them I...

Re: Chrome plating?

I have been using Show Quality Metal Finishing in SeaTac WA. I sent a 34 grill shell to New England Chrome Plating. I forgot to budget in a defibrillator to go with the price quote. So, being in the...

Re: Reason for electric fp at rear

The electric pump manufacturers recommend installing a filter between the tank and the pump. That means crawling under the car to change it with a rear mounted pump. No thanks. I've had enough fuel...

Re: seats in the woods

Hey Gary,

What about the Model A with the Mercedes grill sitting in your driveway. How does that fit in the scheme of things? I think you should post a picture of that here on the barn. Quite...

Re: 1932 Ford Pickup

Andrew,
Nice looking truck! What is the tan car next to it in the photo with the rumble seat step?

The photo is a bit of a teaser.

Re: 34 Ford Need Advice

I'm not sure how big an issue the "not running" factor is. For a true knowledgeable Ford guy, maybe not much. After all, Dave Tatum has a good reputation and is one of the best flathead guys around....

Re: seats in the woods

Hey Gary,

If you get stuck, school bus seats are cheap and they are easy to rework with the tube frames and such. Might get you by if the Willys deal doesn't come through.

Re: 33 Exhaust sizes

Hi Keith, I get it with the shipping cost. Even ground shipping here is significant. But, while on the 33, 34 exhaust subject, I thought I would throw this out. I have two projects, a 34 fordor and a...

Re: 33 Exhaust sizes

Keith, I just measured a new exhaust system from Waldrons I installed in my 34 fordor. Same as 33 I'm not sure. The cross over pipe measures 1.5" OD at the joint end. the header pipe measures 2" OD...
