Re: 1932 Ford Vin

Where are you seeing the VIN, on the title or somewhere on the car?
Sounds like an assigned VIN.

Re: 39 transmission questions

Russ/40 makes some excellent points. You probably won't notice the difference between the two types of synchros. The double-dent top you have is a more significant improvement IMHO.

Re: Welding on head Bolts. Advice Needed

Both 59 and early 8BA engines (1949) mounted the oil filter canister on the head bolts. You might consider using one of those canisters.

Re: 8BA distributor adjustment

For lubricating the cam and rubbing block, use only the grease specifically made for that purpose. It is formulated not to soften and run off at high temperatures and to adhere to the cam and not...

Re: Boling Brothers Brake Conversion

The original Lincoln brakes were 1 3/4" wide. The MT/Boling Bros brakes are available in 1 3/4" width (for original Lincoln drums) or 2" width (only for BB repro or Buick) drums. As I recall, the...

Re: Generator Pulley Sizes.

Phil,
The 74-10130 pulley is for 1938-39 60 hp engines with 2-brush generators. A rare animal for sure.

Re: Fan too far from radiator.

Deuce Lover, what is the diameter of that 37 fan? I thought the 36-39 commercial fans were larger (17") than a 32 fan.

Re: Fan too far from radiator.

Sounds like you have a 33-36 fan. These have the shortest hub (about 1") of all the generator-mounted fans. A 37-38 fan hub is about 1 inch longer.

Re: Silicone brake fluid leakage

Ian, could you provide some references on the piston corrosion issue? Especially actual experiences. Since nearly all pistons of recent vintage are aluminum, this could be a serious problem.
