40 Cpe is correct: King Seeley gauges and contemporary senders have incompatible operating designs. I fiddled with series resistors until I was able to correlate a tank low fuel level with the 'E'...

I still prefer using my dwell meter for accuracy. Reflects actual running status of the points.

Had a Datsun p-u years ago that developed a minor rear end leak like this at the gasket.
I scrubbed the area liberally with acetone and then applied JB Weld. Never leaked a drop after that forever.
