Need help finding a SIMCA V8-60

I'm looking to buy a complete Simca with the overhead valve heads. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!! It's for a Bonneville Belly Tanker build :)

49 Merc OD trans leak question

I have a 49 Merc in right now that's leaking out the OD solenoid unit. I am not too familiar with OD units. Is this a typical issue and how hard is it to fix? Any input welcome :)

Rob,

You can mount it w/o the oil pan on. I have built many this way with zero issues. I'm not saying that it CAN'T be a problem....just that I have never had it be a problem.

All late intakes have the carbs on an angle. The later blocks sat in a sort of "saddle" so to speak and the rear of the engine was tipped downward. The angle on this intake looks a little steeper...

It's venturi vacuum which it what the late dist. uses for advance. They are a replacement for the Holley which was stock on a 49-53 engine. Works just like the Holley except it's a Stromberg.

The base already has the hole drilled and tapped for the late distributor. No extra work required. It's venturi vacuum. I'm leaving in the morning for the Iola car show and won't be back until...

V8-60 engine weight?

Can anyone tell me what the weight is for a V8-60 roughly? No trans and no fluids. I need to get a number for shipping purposes. Any help is much appreciated :D
