Ouch that hurts. I think the only way this could happen is the tang on distributor was 180 degrees out and not seated in the offset slot in the cam . Kind of hard to see down there .

Thanks for that @denniskliesen . The car is not 100% original so perhaps with pictures I can fabricate an improved 30 style bracket. Plus it won’t be seen .

We have a similar motor in our 32 , 4.125 and 3 5/16 bore. We changed from Navarro heads to edelbrock to get a better compression ratio for the bigger motor. Still running 2 97 carbs and an early 8BA...
