Will your generator "motor" when you hook it up to a battery? A gen. that is working properly will run slowly, just like a dc motor when you hook it up to a battery. It should be smooth... and should...

I would check to see what gear ratio the rear end is. Most of the 30's were 6.67 to 1. This is considered undesirable from a driving stand point. You will get about 35mph out of it but that's...

I have turned 100's of steel drums on the brake lathe without a problem. The problems really arise when the carbide insert on the cutting tool becomes chipped or dull. You must use a rubber...

If your running a babbit engine ... be careful .... you'll blow the bottom end right out of it by pumping up the top end too much!

Have you checked your shackles? I have had a few cars in the shop here that were leaners. Many times a tight shackle that will not take grease was the problem.

I used one of his transmission conversions in a restoration done here in the shop. I really would like to find another on of the conversions for another job in my shop now. Probably the best upgrade...
